Tuesday Tip: Adding Flair to Your Cards

Adding Pizzazz

Most of us struggle with adding to our designs. This means coming up with the greeting, adding ephemera, decorations, and other bits and pieces. Card-making comes up as one place where you want each piece to be personalized and great for the recipient. I totally agree but when it comes to decor, what are the choices?

Simple ideas

Use purchased ephemera to glue onto your project. Most hobby stores sell bags of things you can glue onto a card or centerpiece. Sometimes I really like the bought items when I really don't want to make them myself.

Check out these ideas: Ephemera from Amazon - these offerings will give you a ton of ideas!

What about just print and cut your own? That is easy as well when you still don't want to do the design but want something special.

More Than Ephemera

Gluing on pieces and cutouts is definitely a fun way to go but there is so much more that you can do!

Here are some fun ways to decorate:

Add some HotFix Rhinestones to your projects. These rhinestones are ready for you to apply the heat so they stay in place on your project. You can do a ton with these! Look at this from Fashion Every Day...there is so much more you can do with these

What about Distress Inks?

You have probably heard of Ranger products and likely Distress Inks. Did you know that you can add wisps of color to the edges of projects to make them look spectacular? I tried these out with a paper wreath and the results were amazing. You can easily start with just one pad of inks to give this one a test.

There are tons of other things you can use but these are a great start! We will be showing a ton more from Ranger and CreativeFabrica in our Summer Summit - so watch for details coming soon.
